At this moment, we are half way through summer. We have 55 kids here today and it is 94° degrees outside. But we sure are having fun in S.T.E.P. (Summer Time Enrichment Program); Our Middle School Boys are doing a community project at Beardsley Community Gardens and the girls are doing a project at the TN. Veterans Home. We have two periods of academics each day. The rest of the time is fun & recreation. This includes swimming once a week, games, movies, trips, and special speakers. We have already heard from an Air Force pilot, a nurse, and a dental program.; We still have coming up this summer the Carpet Bag Theater, Ijams Nature Center, and trips to the McClung Museum, the Zoo, and the Wonderworks Museum. Wouldn’t you love to have a summer filled with these great activities? We have also been busy behind the scenes. The Wesley House is doing some upgrades that have been needed for several years. And thanks to many donors and volunteers, they are finally happening. • A group of UPS drivers from the Sevierville location have cleaned our modular units, trimmed the landscaping, cleaned out and re-mulched the playground equipment. • Knight Communication has installed a new telephone system and will be adding outdoor intercom speakers in the next few weeks. • Hope Community Church operated a VBS for our kids and screened the outdoor pavilion. • Trinity United Methodist Men are cleaning the pavilion and re-painting our outside staircases. Many other groups and individuals have aided us this summer including, St. John’s Lutheran WOW youth program, UT’s Upward student program, Lonsdale UMC, Trinity UMC, Church Street UMC youth, Paige Ragland, Kristy Griffey, and Immaculate High School. THANK YOU TO SO MANY FOR SO MUCH…. Matthew 10:42 “ And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I will tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” Thank you for your visit to our site and we hope to hear from you soon. Please feel free to contact us here at the Wesley House by calling us at (865) 524-5494 or feel free to email me at Richard@wesleyhouse.com. Richard Gibson
